Shinta Mani Wild Brings Dental Care to Children in Cambodia’s Cardamom Mountains
September 09, 2026
This September, Shinta Mani Wild will transform a primary school in Cambodia’s remote Cardamom Mountains into a temporary dental clinic, bringing free care and oral health education to hundreds of children who have limited access to professional healthcare. From September 8–14, the luxury conservation camp will host Global Dental Relief and the Shinta Mani Foundation for a seven-day volunteer clinic at Prey Praseth Primary School, providing examinations, fluoride treatments, restorative care and education, alongside a new children’s multivitamin program addressing broader nutritional needs.
The initiative expands a partnership between Global Dental Relief and the Shinta Mani Foundation that has provided dental care to thousands of Cambodian children since 2014. A team of volunteer dentists and clinical support staff will work with local partners to deliver care to an estimated 650–800 children, while the Shinta Mani Wild team supports transportation, translation, meals and logistics. The effort also reflects the camp’s broader conservation philosophy, linking the wellbeing of neighboring communities with the long-term protection of the surrounding rainforest.
The Curated Take: At Shinta Mani Wild, conservation is being approached as something that extends beyond protecting the landscape. Bringing essential healthcare into one of Cambodia’s most remote regions demonstrates how responsible luxury travel can be connected to the wellbeing of the communities that surround protected wilderness. It is a meaningful reminder that the strongest conservation stories often begin with people.
