For some experienced skiers, the problem isn’t ability. It’s nerve. VIP SKI is putting a rarely discussed part of the ski experience in focus with its new Ski Confidence Reset and a dedicated Ski Confidence Week in Val d’Isère in April 2027, designed for skiers who still know how to ski but no longer feel quite as confident doing it. An injury, time away from the mountains, pressure to keep pace with family or friends, or simply becoming more conscious of the consequences of a fall can all change the experience.

Developed with Kate Casali, The Ski Mindset Coach®, the program combines traditional instruction with mindset coaching. Guests begin with a confidential questionnaire and individual pre-trip session, followed by ski instruction with Oxy Ski School, group confidence work, individual coaching and an introduction to Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) in Val d’Isère. A post-holiday session helps participants reflect on what has changed. The goal isn’t to make skiers fearless or push them onto more challenging terrain, but to help them reconnect with skills they already possess. The seven-night April 11, 2027 stay at No 6 Bellevarde starts from £1,268 per person based on two sharing, including chalet board, the confidence program, ski guiding and group Geneva transfers.

The Curated Take

There’s an interesting honesty to admitting that skiing can change even when your technique hasn’t. For families, couples and longtime ski travelers, confidence can quietly become the difference between joining the group for another run and opting for lunch instead. VIP SKI’s approach recognizes that getting people back on the mountain may require something different from another lesson: sometimes the most useful skill to relearn is trusting yourself.
