The house predates the Spanish colonial adobe era, with portions built using puddled adobe, an Indigenous construction technique that predates the introduction of Spanish-style adobe bricks.

Inside, Red Door reflects the distinctive design language of The Inn of The Five Graces, pairing historic architecture with rare antiques, custom textiles and intricate hand-laid mosaics collected from around the world. The villa’s secluded setting gives it the atmosphere of a private Santa Fe residence while retaining access to the inn’s hospitality and amenities. Adding another layer to the experience, the property’s celebrated wisteria, which cascades into purple blooms each June, is protected by a permanent preservation easement.
