Four Seasons Bali Turns Movie Night Into a Quiet Cinema by the Sea
September 17, 2026
Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay is giving movie night a distinctly beachfront setting with the launch of Jimbaran Cinema, a “Quiet Cinema” experience at the resort’s secluded Coconut Grove. Running Sundays and Mondays from September 13 through November 9, the open-air screenings pair sunset drinks, relaxed beachfront dining and classic films with a headphone-based audio experience that leaves the sound of the waves undisturbed.
Guests settle into bean bags, sun beds or armchair sofas at 6 p.m. for a sunset drink before the film begins at 7:30 p.m. Using CineWav, the movie soundtrack is streamed directly to guests’ mobile phones through their own earphones, creating a more intimate viewing experience. Sunday screenings are geared toward families and friends with films including Mamma Mia! and The Greatest Showman, while Mondays take a more romantic turn with titles such as The Notebook. In-seat service continues throughout the film, with popcorn, soft drinks and juice included, alongside a menu of elevated cinema snacks such as lobster rolls, coconut crab nachos, Korean-style fried chicken and truffle parmesan fries.
The Curated Take
The cleverness of Jimbaran Cinema is that the technology is designed to make the setting quieter, not louder. By keeping the soundtrack in guests’ ears, the experience preserves the natural soundscape of Jimbaran Bay while transforming the beach into a private-feeling cinema beneath the stars. It is a simple idea, but one that feels particularly well suited to Bali, where the environment is as much a part of the evening as the movie itself.
