Travel between Japan and Western Australia is about to become considerably easier, with All Nippon Airways increasing its direct Tokyo-Perth service from three flights per week to daily operations beginning October 25, 2026. The expanded schedule will run through March 27, 2027, responding to growing visitor demand from Japan and strengthening one of the key international air links into Western Australia.

The additional frequency is significant for a destination as geographically removed from many of its international markets as Western Australia. Perth now sits at the end of a network of 22 nonstop international routes, giving travelers from Japan and beyond more flexibility when planning a visit to experience the state’s wine regions, coastlines, wilderness and increasingly sophisticated cultural scene.

The Curated Take:
For a destination where distance has historically been part of the allure and the challenge, air connectivity matters. Daily Tokyo service makes Western Australia easier to incorporate into a Japan-Australia itinerary and gives Japanese travelers greater flexibility to explore beyond Australia’s more familiar eastern cities.
