Bloom Festival Celebrates Western Australia’s Spring Wildflower Season
September 20, 2026
From wildflower walks through mountain ranges to botanical workshops, Aboriginal cultural experiences and long-table food and wine events, Western Australia’s Great Southern region is welcoming spring with the return of Bloom Festival, running September 12 through October 11, 2026. Spanning destinations from Kojonup to Bremer Bay, including Denmark and Albany/Kinjarling, the annual celebration brings together the region’s natural landscapes, local producers, artists and communities.
The festival offers a varied way to experience the Great Southern at one of its most colorful times of year. Visitors can explore markets featuring local produce and handmade crafts, join guided walks and tours, discover visual art and craft exhibitions, or enjoy live music and family-focused activities. With the Stirling and Porongurup Ranges providing a dramatic backdrop, Bloom presents the region not simply as a place to see wildflowers, but as a destination where nature, culture and local creativity intersect.
The Curated Take:
Bloom Festival offers a more layered approach to spring travel than a simple wildflower-viewing excursion. The combination of guided landscape experiences, Aboriginal cultural tours, regional food and art gives visitors multiple ways to connect with the Great Southern, making the season an invitation to explore the character of the region as much as its scenery.
