A new boutique accommodation experience is coming to Western Australia’s Wheatbelt, with The Fox Den Mukinbudin welcoming guests from February 2027. Set on a working farm approximately 3.5 hours northeast of Perth, the property will feature premium, fully self-contained studio cabins designed around a slower style of travel, with kitchenettes, bathrooms, in-room laundry and outdoor dining areas with seasonal firepits.

The location also positions The Fox Den as a base for experiencing one of Western Australia’s most spectacular seasonal phenomena: wildflower season. Far from the major tourist centers, the Wheatbelt offers broad landscapes, dramatic skies and a sense of space that appeals to travelers looking to trade a conventional hotel stay for something more connected to place.

The Curated Take:
The Fox Den taps into the kind of small-scale accommodation that can make an under-the-radar region feel like a destination in its own right. The appeal isn’t a long list of amenities, but the opportunity to slow down, sleep beneath dark skies and use a thoughtfully designed base to explore the Wheatbelt’s landscapes and wildflowers.
