The Margaret River Region will once again welcome Cape to Cape MTB, Australia’s longest-running and largest four-day mountain biking stage race, from October 14–18, 2026. Covering almost 200 kilometers and approximately 2,500 meters of climbing, the event takes riders across a varied mix of farm tracks and flowing single trails, with daily stages ranging from 34 to 59 kilometers.

What distinguishes the experience is the way cycling is woven into the character of the region. Riders gain access to private trails, pass through wine-country landscapes and finish stages with visits to vineyards and breweries, combining the physical challenge of the race with the food, wine and hospitality for which Margaret River is known. The result is an event that showcases the region as both an adventure destination and a place to linger after the ride.

The Curated Take:
Cape to Cape is an example of an event that makes the landscape central to the experience rather than simply using it as a backdrop. The combination of challenging trails, private access and regional hospitality gives participants a way to experience Margaret River that feels distinctly connected to its terrain and local culture.
