The 2026 UCI Gravel World Championships will bring elite gravel cycling to Nannup in Western Australia’s South West from October 4–11. Set among the region’s towering karri and jarrah forests, the event marks the first time an Elite Gravel World Championship will be held in Western Australia and the first time the championships have taken place outside Europe.

The competition will place Nannup’s scenic gravel trails on an international stage, drawing top riders from around the world to a course shaped by the region’s forests and rugged terrain. Beyond the race itself, the championship highlights a part of Western Australia where outdoor adventure and regional landscapes are central to the visitor experience, offering an opportunity to discover the South West through a sport that is closely tied to the environment.

The Curated Take:
Gravel cycling is particularly suited to destinations where the journey through the landscape is part of the attraction. Hosting the world championships in Nannup puts the region’s forests and trails in the spotlight while introducing a global audience to a quieter, more immersive side of Western Australia’s South West.
