Savannah Gets an Alpine Winter Escape
October 02, 2026
Beginning November 13, 2026, Savannah’s Lost Square rooftop will trade its usual warm-weather sensibility for an alpine-inspired winter setting. At The Alida, the hotel’s rooftop bar transforms into Alpine Village, surrounding guests with twinkling lights, private yurts and panoramic views across the Savannah skyline. Each yurt accommodates up to six guests for a private seasonal experience built around festive cocktails, winter treats and fireside s’mores.
The experience continues downstairs at The Alpine Hideaway in The Trade Room, where winter décor and warm cocktails, including Hot Toddys, extend the après-ski atmosphere. The result is a distinctly Savannah interpretation of the alpine tradition, swapping mountain slopes for rooftop views while retaining the convivial appeal of gathering around the fire with a seasonal drink in hand.
The Curated Take: Alpine winter experiences usually come with an obvious geographical requirement. The Alida’s concept is interesting precisely because it removes that requirement. In a city better known for its historic squares, Lowcountry architecture and mild winters, the seasonal transformation offers a playful reason to experience Savannah through an entirely different lens.
