A Taste of Spain Above Bangkok
October 07, 2026
Three years after opening in Bangkok’s On Nut neighborhood, INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit is marking the occasion by leaning into one of its most distinctive features: the skyline. Rising 34 floors above the city, the 208-room hotel combines contemporary design with a distinctly Spanish influence, culminating in LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar on the 33rd floor and a transparent infinity pool directly overhead.
The hotel’s “Feel the Skyline Vibes” experience brings that combination together through Spanish tapas, cocktails and a sunset cocktail-making class overlooking Bangkok. At LUZ, guests can sample tapas, Spanish wines, cocktails and signature sangrias under the direction of Spanish Chef de Cuisine Juan Ignacio García Racionero, known as Chef Nacho. The restaurant’s position beneath the transparent pool creates one of the property’s more unusual visual moments, while the 34th-floor pool provides another perspective on the city. The hotel also incorporates co-working spaces, giving the property a distinctly contemporary take on the urban hotel.
The Curated Take: LUZ gives INNSiDE Bangkok a particularly interesting identity. Rather than simply adding a rooftop bar to a city hotel, the property has created a vertical experience where Spanish food and hospitality meet Bangkok’s skyline. It is a reminder that a sense of place in a city hotel doesn’t necessarily mean reproducing the destination literally. Sometimes it comes from the unexpected conversation between two cultures.
