Rethinking What It Means to Age Well in the Texas Hill Country
October 08, 2026
Lake Austin Spa Resort is bringing together women working across wellness, healthcare and spa leadership for Better with Age: Women Redefining Longevity, Leadership & Wellbeing on October 14 and 15. Created in partnership with Glowing Older and hosted by its founder, Nancy Griffin, the gathering will explore longevity, women’s health, purpose and wellbeing as part of Lake Austin’s monthlong A Gathering of W.I.S.E. Women series. Speakers include wellness executive Laura Gamboa, Northwestern University professor Dr. Ruchi Gupta and author Susan Salenger, alongside an interactive session focused on personal values.
The program reflects a broader shift in how wellness is approaching aging, moving beyond appearance and conventional anti-aging narratives toward health, purpose, connection and quality of life. Day guests will also have access to Lake Austin’s all-inclusive resort experience, including lunch, spa treatments, wellness programming and lake activities, creating space to consider those ideas within a broader retreat setting.
The Curated Take: The most compelling aspect of Better with Age is its premise that aging well is not simply a matter of extending life, but of considering how we want to live it. Bringing conversations about women’s health, leadership, personal values and longevity into a destination wellness setting makes the retreat part of a larger cultural conversation about what wellbeing looks like across different stages of life.
