Conrad Koh Samui Creates a Private World Above the Gulf of Thailand
October 10, 2026
Conrad Koh Samui is preparing to unveil The Pearl, a 766-square-metre Presidential Villa positioned at the resort’s highest point overlooking the Gulf of Thailand and the Five Islands. More than an expansive accommodation, the two-level retreat is designed as a private world where dining, entertainment, wellness and relaxation can unfold without leaving the villa. An upper entertaining level includes a sweeping terrace, private bar, living room and catering kitchen, while the lower level centers on a master suite and dedicated wellness sanctuary.
The Pearl’s private wellness facilities include a couple’s treatment room, sauna, steam room, hot and cold hydrotherapy plunges and a fitness space, extending the growing luxury travel emphasis on personalized wellness into the guest’s own accommodation. Outside, a 20-metre infinity pool, private cinema and sunken dining pavilion reinforce the villa’s residential character. Natural stone, warm woods and details inspired by Thai timber construction connect the contemporary design to Koh Samui’s landscape and architectural traditions, while views of the Five Islands provide a constant sense of place.
The Curated Take: The Pearl reflects a broader shift in high-end hospitality from simply offering a larger villa to creating an entirely self-contained experience. Here, privacy is not just about seclusion. Guests can move from movement and hydrotherapy to a chef-led dinner, sunset drinks or a film under the stars without ever leaving their own private environment. It is a distinctly contemporary interpretation of the resort escape, where the destination remains visible and present, even when the guest chooses not to venture beyond the villa.
