W Bali Reimagines the Seminyak Beach Club Experience With Alunê
October 14, 2026
W Bali – Seminyak has introduced Alunê, a new beachfront destination occupying the former Woobar footprint and designed around the natural rhythm of Seminyak’s shoreline. Its name draws from the Indonesian alunan, referring to the flowing rhythm of waves and sound, combined with the French lune, or moon. That idea carries through the design, which takes its cues from the beach’s southwest-facing sunsets with wave-inspired forms, oceanic colors and a bar backed by illuminated mosaic and amber glass that echoes the changing light outside.
The experience shifts naturally from daytime to evening, with chef-driven coastal dishes, locally inspired ingredients, wellness-focused frozen bowls and a sunset ritual built around cocktails and live music. Private pool cabanas with jacuzzis offer a more secluded alternative to the club’s social spaces, while the launch of Club Lacoste adds padel and a wellness-oriented dimension to the resort’s beachfront offering. Together, the two concepts create a broader day-to-night experience, allowing guests to move from an active afternoon on the court to dining, music and sunset on the same stretch of Seminyak shore.
The Curated Take: Alunê is interesting because it treats the beachfront as more than a setting for a conventional beach club. The concept is built around the actual rhythm of Seminyak, from its southwest sunset to the movement between activity, socializing and downtime. Paired with Club Lacoste, it reflects a broader evolution in resort culture where sport, wellness, food and nightlife increasingly overlap rather than occupying separate parts of the guest experience.
